"ABU DHABI // Khalifa Saif Al Muhairibi, a young Emirati businessman, is set to take over SpVgg Unterhaching, the Liga 3 club in Germany.
Al Muhairibi, the chairman of Arabian Gulf Investments and Anton Schrobenhauser, the chief financial officer, announced the deal would be completed in two months after their first round of talks yesterday.
"The decision is already made and now it is a matter of completing the formalities of the take-over," said Al Muhairibi.
"We will travel to the club shortly and hopefully complete the ownership change under the Arabian Gulf Investments in two months.
"The club has a very rich history and tradition. They have also played in the Bundasliga, and our long-term objective would be to try and get them to those glory days."
Schrobenhauser says a change of the ownership will bring in new ideas and improvements to the club.
"I am extremely delighted with how things have moved about so swiftly," said the former goalkeeper in the Bundasliga.
"The club has had some success in the past and I would like to think under a new ownership they can move forward with new ideas and investments."
Unterhaching established in 1925 is located in the southern outskirts of the Bavarian capital Munich. They played in the Bundasliga alongside their more famous neighbours Bayern Munich and 1860 Munich for two seasons between 1999 and 2001."

Stimme Dir absolut zu - keiner hilft der armen SpVgg - außer ein gutherziger Investor, der schon seit vielen Jahren die tollen Leistungen und Bemühungen der SpVgg Unterhaching verfolgt hat und das Leiden des Vereins und der aufopfernden Bemühungen unseres Premium-Vorstandes einen Sponsor zu finden, nicht mehr mit anschauen kann.
Da haben wir aber Glück, dass wir nicht so doof sind , wie unsere Nachbarn, denn wir haben den Besten Investor der Welt gefunden, der ohne sich einzumischen und ohne was einzufordern, einfach mal ein paar Millionen in den weltbekannten Verein aus der Metropole Unterhaching mit dem schier unendlichen Fanpotential steckt.
Und im übrigen sage ich Euch, die 3. Liga ist so fies und der DFB ist so gemein und alle sind gegen uns und die deutschen Investoren wollen immer Bilanzen sehen. Gut, wir sind dann halt kein Integrationsverein mehr mit tollen Kontakten und Auftritten in Istanbul und Berlin, sondern ein Investment für einen langjährigen arabischen Haching-Fan. Eines muss man dem DFB zu Gute halten, die 3. Liga scheint auch in Abu Dhabi seit vielen Jahren zu sehen sein. Chapeau!
Liebe Vereine aus der dritten Liga - spart Euch das Klingenputzen bei Sponsoren aus der Region - Fly with Toni to Abu Dhabi. Dann bekommt der Begriff Arabische Liga in den Weltnachrichten eine ganz neue Bedeutung - nicht mehr Politik, sondern Fußball.
Und wer hat's erfunden....
