Andre Villas-Boas says he has no intention of selling Rafael van der Vaart.

Van der Vaart has been an undoubted success since he signed from Real Madrid two years ago, but the Dutchman had to settle for a place on the bench last week at Newcastle, with Villas-Boas selecting Gylfi Sigurdsson for his first game in charge.

The Dutchman has been strongly linked with a return to former club Hamburg. Villas-Boas refused to guarantee that Van der Vaart would be at Spurs when the transfer window closes, but when asked whether it was his intention to sell him, the Portuguese said: "No, on the contrary. He's a player of great importance for us, a player I count on."

Tottenham target Leandro Damiao will not be heading to White Hart Lane this summer, according to Internacional's vice-president.

The Brazil striker has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs and the sale of Luka Modric is likely to spark significant transfer spending by the London club.

But the 23-year-old is unlikely to be among the incoming players after Internacional vice-president Luciano Davi revealed that the Brazilian club have decided to keep the forward for now.

"Our intention is that Leandro Damiao doesn't leave this year," Davi told Globo Esporte.

"He is an Internacional player until December. Their offer wasn't relevant and we are not interested in selling him.

"Tottenham came to us but their offer didn't match our valuation of him. Leandro Damiao is a national team striker and we have to value that."

Info L'Equipe : Lyon et Tottenham ont fini par trouver un accord vendredi pour le transfert d'Hugo Lloris (25 ans). Le gardien lyonnais est attendu à Londres dans l'après-midi pour passer sa visite médicale et y signer son nouveau contrat dont la durée reste à déterminer. Le montant de la transaction devrait tourner autour de 12 millions, assortis de 3 à 4 millions de plus en bonus. Mais dans l'affaire, l'OL devra aussi reverser 25% de la plus-value à Nice, le club formateur du portier international, qui avait quitté la Côté d'Azur pour le Rhône contre 8 millions en 2008. Donc l'OL devra payer environ un million d'euros au Gym
